Walking around Mackworth Island in Maine at the end of the Autumn Fall, I came across a solitary tree that hadn’t yet lost its leaves, probably because of its shelter in the midst of many other trees. It was late afternoon, and the low sun acted as a fantastic sidelight, lighting up the  yellow leaves and creating some beautiful leading lines of shadows as it hit the trunks of the other trees.
